Andrew is a highly accomplished environmental manager with more than three decades of experience, specialising in diverse areas such as environmental assessment, marine spatial planning, conservation, and integrated coastal zone management (ICZM). Andrew condected an economic valuation of Madagascar’s protected areas, demonstrating his expertise in ecosystem service valuation.

With a master’s degree in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK, and an MSc degree in tropical coastal management, Andrew possesses exceptional qualifications for his role. As the Founding Director of RESOLVE, Andrew’s career trajectory is marked by significant achievements. Initially trained as a zoologist at Cambridge University, UK, he transitioned to environmental conservation, bringing his skills and experience to Madagascar in 1991.

Andrew served as a technical advisor to Madagascar’s marine and coastal environment program from 1998 to 2001, before establishing RESOLVE in 2001. Since then, he has managed and developed RESOLVE’s operations in Madagascar while undertaking international assignments for UN agencies and other entities across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Andrew’s tenure as Environment Manager at the Ambatovy Nickel project further honed his expertise in biodiversity and sustainability, including compliance with IFC performance standards and biodiversity offsets programs.

Fluent in English and French, Andrew’s consultancy work is marked by his profound knowledge and experience, making him an invaluable asset to RESOLVE and its clientele.
